Gothic DM 2

Synopsis

At the time Gothic2 was being worked on I was virtually unknown as a DOOM author. I had just released Dachronix but I wasn't fully aware of the "hangouts" for the DOOM community so I didn't get much feedback. On another of my wild web extravaganzas I stumbled across Adelusion's page. I emailed him about requiem (something like: When the hell are you guys gonna release it? It looks sweet as hell). Somehow I must have had the nerve to ask him if I could join Gothic DM 2. Suprisingly he didn't reply with a "MUHAHAahahaahhehe".

He pointed me to the Gothic Texture wad and told me to try whipping something up. I returned with two crappy wads. His first reply was "Err, well, you've got wierd texture usage and bad alignment". I kept plugging away at those wads and worked on another. The third wad was partly inspired from Gothic DM map2. It was enough to get my foot in the door and stir up the party. Since my detailing wasn't up to snuff Matthew Dixon stepped in and added his magic. I had did 2 other wads (for a total of 5) but only the one I co-authored with Matt Dixon made it in because I retracted the others. I am very picky about quality and making the cut - and I knew this was my big break - I was obviously out of my league at the time. I'm still very greatful to Anthony Czerwonka (Adelusion) for giving me this chance. It opened up many oppurtunities for me to choose which project I wanted to work on - "You worked on Gothic2? We'll take you...".
